George Szirtes
Author
George Szirtes arrived in the UK as a child refugee from Hungary in 1956 and has become one of the country's most distinguished poets. He has won a variety of prizes for his work, including the T.S. Eliot Prize for his collection Reel and the 2013 CLPE Prize for his children’s collection: In the Land of the Giants. His translations from Hungarian poetry, fiction and drama have also won numerous awards including the translators' prize in the Man Booker International. George Szirtes lives in Wymondham, Norfolk.
