More distinctions for 'The Girl Who Became a Tree'
Congratulations to poet Joseph Coelho and illustrator Kate Milner on the news that 'The Girl Who Became a Tree' is one of the selected titles in the Young Adult category for National Poetry Day. NPD is on October 7 but the energetic team behind this great promotion for poetry reading are already hard at work. The book was on the shortlist for the CILIP Carnegie Medal 2021, and was also longlisted for the CILIP Greenaway Medal 2021 – a huge tribute to the combined talents of both, first seen in Joseph's 2017 collection 'Overheard in a Tower Block'. 'The Girl Who Became a Tree' has also won an international honour, with a Special Mention awarded by the jury of the Bologna Children's Book Fair 2021 Poetry Prize.
